CINCINNATI, OH — The Advanced Manufacturing Industry Partnership (AMIP), through its outreach arm Make It Cincy, is once again leading the charge for Manufacturing Day (MFG Day) 2025. The annual celebration kicks off Friday, October 3, 2025, and continues throughout the month with thousands of students taking manufacturing tours across Greater Cincinnati.
MFG Day is a nationwide movement where manufacturers open their doors to students, parents, and educators, offering firsthand exposure to advanced technologies, career paths, and educational opportunities in modern manufacturing. This year, AMIP is spotlighting two of its partners: AtriCure, a global leader in medical devices, and General Tool Company, a family-owned precision manufacturer.
"At AtriCure, we believe the next breakthrough in healthcare will come from the people we inspire today.” said, Jared Calhoun, Sr. Manager Engineering Services at AtriCure. “By inviting students into our facilities on MFG Day, we’re showing them how innovation in manufacturing directly impacts patients’ lives around the world.”
"MFG Day is an opportunity to open our doors and show the next generation what's possible in manufacturing. We want young people to see firsthand that careers in machining and fabrication aren't just viable options, they're pathways to real success and fulfillment", said Kelly Blom, Human Resources Business Partner at General Tool Company. She continues, “By exposing students to the skilled trades early, we're helping them discover opportunities they might never have known existed. This is a significant investment in their future of our industry.”
In addition to these highlighted tours, students will visit a wide range of facilities representing advanced machining, aerospace, consumer products, and emerging technologies. The goal: closing the career awareness gap and inspiring young people to pursue high-demand careers in manufacturing.
